Hearing the door open Risk turned slightly and looked out of the corner of her eye.Seeing a mouse she didn't know, she was slightly embarrassed to let him see her cry like a little kit.Risk wiped her eyes hastily and while putting on her black hood again she nodded a hello.

Ty shook his head and looked back to Risk. " What's to be ashamed of? Everyone cries once in awhile..." He said to her, with a smile before ordering himself some rum. He then licked his lips in satisfaction and began to chug.

"Everyone cries a lot." Rowtag ordered some ale and when it came, slowly sipped the cool drink. "But be careful mate. I've heard there's some badgers 'round here."

Korren didn't know what had come over him. The wolf had not criticized him for the recipe; why was he afraid? Must have been the cheap wine I drank earlier.
Sitting next to Rowtag, the fieldmouse nodded his red head. "Aye, don't need ta' be ashamed of cryin'. 'Fact," he said, turning his head toward the bartender, lifting his voice so she could hear,"I might start cryin' if Junda doesn't bring me a good jug o' grog." Korren liked to cheer other beasts up, especially when a joke was involved. Not knowing why the vixen should be careful of badgers, he tried to avoid the topic.

Risk chuckled slightly hearing the joke. No,they weren't bad at all. They were her friends. All she hoped for was that she won't run into any badgers right now.

Post by Chicory Rue on Sept 14, 2006 21:15:27 GMT -5
As though fate had purposely decreed it, at that very moment a badger did indeed come striding in. There was a sound like a report going off as the door flew open with terrifying force, and a small sliver of a crack ran the length of it where the wood panels had struck the wall. A howl of wind and a peal of thunder accompanied the sudden shunt, and the ensuing hullabaloo of weather and wildly flapping door all but drowned out the sound of Rue’s harsh coughing as she slid into the tavern, fiercely waggling her snout so that tiny driblets of water flew in all directions.
Another pronounced cough forced itself up from the throat of the female badger, and Rue fell to hacking and hemming uncontrollably, covering her partly open mouth with a massive paw. Then, abruptly, she straightened herself up and raspily cleared her throat once, wheezing. The rims of her eyes were brick red and watering profusely, but otherwise it was as though absolutely nothing had happened. She fell silent for a moment.
Looking around, she spotted three fellow Hordebeasts already occupying the tavern. Not taking the least notice of the less-than-friendly glances being thrown her way, she raised her palm in the direction of Madame Garliman, signifying to the fox bartender that she would like a plain glass of water, please. The order came almost instantaneously, and Rue sat down near the others with her glass. The water tasted a bit brackish, but she didn’t particularly care. She coughed again, taking care to turn her head the other way.
Aloud, she said with almost unnatural cheerfulness to nobody in particular: “So. How fares everybeast to-day?”
EDIT: I guess it's Garliman, not Guliman. xD

Rowtag glanced at Rue curiously. "Erm... I guess I'm well. You?" He nervously flicked his eyes back to Risk. "Umm... this isn't really a good place to be here right now." He began drumming his fingers on the table.

Bounding in behind the large badger had come a tall slim otter. Unknownst to Rue, Legolas had been struggling to make her way through the ghastly weather when she had spotted the badger stalking through the town towards the tavern. Shuffling over and behind Rue, Legolas had used the large creature to block the wind from blowing her over. When they reached the door of the tavern, Legolas had dived into the doorway and rolled over to the side of it, panting as she caught her breath. Then, getting up, she shook herself vigerously, and sauntered happily up to the bar.
"Hey there mate. Got anything hot to eat back there? Or is it just drinks today?"
She grinned cheekily and turned to scan the rest of the occupants of the bar.
"Getting out of the weather huh? I'm lucky I ran into Rue there, or I probably would have blown away!"
After a short giggle, she suddenly realized that the atmosphere in the bar was rather tense. Blinking once, she turned back to the bar.
"So, is there food or what?"
