Grenn drew out his shortsword. He was nervous he had never fought anybody before. He prefers just to run faster than people. He was waiting for someone to come.

*the ferret was walking by the arena when he saw Grenn standing, awaiting a foe. He decided to challenge the newcomer to a friendly spar. He shed his dark green cloak on the flagstone near the gate and drew his cutlass, which gleamed in the bright afternoon sun.*
"Ho there! Looking for a spar?" *he calls out to Grenn*

Grenn knew that this was the second-in-command. "Yes sir. I've never been much of a fighter. More of a lover not a fighter." Grenn began circling his opponent."The honor is yours sir."

*the ferret gives a short bow and a smile*"Thankee kindly, good sir." *with that, he lunges out at his foe, swinging his cutlass in a broad, lazy arc at the otter's head to test his reflexes.*

The otter tried to do a swift backward jump but he didn't escape in time. The blade tip nicked him right under his belly button. He grunted from the pain. He was breating heavier than when he was at rest. He ran at Durriac with his sword out in front of him like a spear. He had the glint of battle in his eyes.

*the ferret sidestepped the incoming blade with ease, punched away the flat of the sword with his leather covered fist and brought the hilt and handguard of his cutlass up at his opponent's chin, hoping to stun him*

Grenn wasn't ready for the blow. He staggered around for a moment then turned around still a bit unsteady. " Good shot."

"Thanks." *taking advantage of his foe's dazedness, he hurled himself at the otter's chest, one arm bent and the other bracing it, hoping to bring down Grenn*

"Ahhhhhhhhh" Grenn went down but he wasn't about to be beaten. He coiled up his arm muscles and punched away at Durriac trying to get him off.

Grenn took advantage of this brief respite. He jumped up and put his fists together. He tried to bring them crashing down onto Durriac's head."ARrrrrrrrrrrrrr."

*the ferret rolled away, but had to drop his cutlass in order to roll smoothly. He stands up, brushing a bit of the layers of dust that was covering him and breathing more intensley than normal. Durriac knew he was at a disadvantage without his sword; fist fighting had never been one of his strengths. He started circling around Grenn to get closer to his blade*

Grenn picked up the blade and threw it as far away as he could. He then threw his sword as well."Just fists now." Grenn ran at him as fast as he could fists at the ready.

"Fists only? You've made a grave mistake. No pun intended." *the ferret bluffed, then got himself into a ready stance, left arm out some, his right curled against his chest, poised like a snake*

The blow took him unawares. It hit him square in the side of his head. He shook it off and then went to the body. one two, one two, one two.

*He was able to knock off some of the punches with his forearms, but after the third had gotten past his guard, he seized wildly at his opponent's wrist, trying to pull him in and get a good elbow to the neck*
