Apprantly Hamas has no money for their government. George Bush has threatened to Sanction all countries who aid the Hamas government. We really don't like them do we?

I'm all for keeping out of foreign countries affairs, y'know, letting them do what they want without Western intervention.
But the Hamas is classified as a terrorist group by several countries, and I fully agree with that. They are a major hindrance to peace in Israel, and while they are in power suicide bombings will increase while peace talks will decrease. I must, for once, agree with Bush's stance here.

Lol, let them live and let me live! I do agree with that decision (even though I'm an Aussie) on regilous reasons... lol

I saw this and I had to come back for it. Sorry to give anyone false impressions, but I did just come back for this.
I'm going to disagree with everyone and say that Bush's stance is pretty stupid and childish. It seems to me like he's saying, "Don't like us? Fine, we won't give you squat." It's kind of sad. We tried the same thing with Fidel Castro in Cuba by placing an embargo on him in the 60s, and it's still here today. What has it done? Well, Cuba's in poverty, so I guess that worked, but Castro is still in power now just as much as he was back then. It just seems pretty short-sighted and petty.
Yes, Hamas has been classified as a terrorist group, but if they manage to perservere in running a government until next the next elections despite the lack of Western help, they'll have effectively said "ha, we actually don't need you" and we'll look pretty stupid. And it will also endear them to people for standing up to America and getting away with it.
And I'd love to dispute George's "being the man"ness, but there's only so much you can do with one post. Glad to see everyone's doing well.

You're just drawn to political discussions like flies to rotting meat, or men to certain female physical attributes, aren't you? I agree that it is not the best action that could be taken. But some action is better than none. I would prefer a UN sanction, instead of just an American-led one. But you take what you can get. With the Hamas in power, peace in Israel is impossible. If this sanction works to some degree, that would be a success. If it doesn't, America looks like fools - as they always do anyway. But if they sit back and do nothing, that might only encourage the Hamas. And, if they do get money from other countries (I can see Saudi Arabia leading the Arab countries in this), then they'll have a better opportunity to exert their control, and stay in power at the next elections. Something needs to be done. It's unfortunate that this isn't UN approved, or, for that matter, approved by other leading countries (as far as I know, at least), but it's the best we've got so far. And now, I end my little post to go eat dinner. Mm, taco
