Welcome to the new Horde! Quite a few changes have been made during the construction of this site, so if you’ll be patient and read on, you will learn what they all are and I won’t have to be plagued with questions.
New Joining Procedure
There is a new system of joining which I’ll ask you all to pay attention to. First, you now join at the Recruitment Office board by stating which legion or ship you would like to sign up for and why. Then, once you are accepted, you have the option to post your description at the Character Description board.
Returning members must re-join following the new procedure – this gives you an opportunity to change legions and join a ship.
Added Boards
Several new boards have been added for you to RP on. These include The Beach, The Market, The Ivoric Saloon, The Library, and The Gardens – the last four of which are sub-boards under The Town.
In addition, boards have been added for the new ships and a new legion.
New Legions and Ships
The organization of legions has been altered, and ships have been added. The legions now consist of:
The Thyrllan Regiment (light infantry)
The Ontarian Division (medium infantry)
The Terranyth Forces (heavy infantry)
The Armanian Troupe (special forces)
And the two ships are:
The Orion (bigger, tougher)
The Osprey (lighter, faster)
Full descriptions are given on the board description areas.
Captains and Commanders
First off, I am now Horde Master, and Durriac is still Second-in-Command.
Troop Commanders and Ship Captains may be changed around.
Durriac is still the Ontarian Division commander, and Dagglur still the Armanian Troupe commander. The other two legions will be left leaderless until I appoint someone.
Stryke Wavepebble will be the captain of The Orion, but The Osprey will be without a captain until I appoint someone.
If you are in a leaderless division, then the member with the highest ranking from post counts will be temporary leader, until I appoint someone to the position.
Password Protected Boards
I have enacted a password system for the Legions and Ships. This means you can not access other legions or ships, but you’ll be given the password for your own. Once you are accepted into a division of the army, I will send you your password via Private Message.
This means you can not switch divisions unless you really, really must.
Please do not try to hack in to other boards. If you do manage to, I doubt you’ll actually tell me, so at least keep it to yourself.
This system may be taken down in the future. For now, it is sort of a test run.
The Old Board and your Old Posts
The old Horde will still be running and available for you to visit, since there is almost 2 years worth of memories on there, and I don’t want to lose that.
If you want to continue RPing on there, go right ahead. Or, feel free to start up your RP threads and continue here. (I have already re-started the Last Word thread here)
New Smiley Faces
As you may have noticed by now, I’ve switched in my own smiley faces (blatantly copied off another site). I did this on the old one too, but these ones are, in my opinion, better, and do not have that black background on them. Also, they are showing up for me now, which they didn’t do on the old site.
The new smilies are: ;D
New Skins
To clarify: skins are the background and colour schemes used on the board.
We still have the original one, which is the default, and the Proboards default (the one the board came with). I’ve also added 3 new skins that I randomly made when I was bored: Forest, Stormy Sea, and Winter’s Breath. I’m not the most artistic person, so if you see any colour clashes that you think should be altered, go ahead and tell me.
You can select which skin you wish to use by choosing an option when modifying your profile.
Vote for The Horde!
At the top of the main page you’ll see a little symbol with a number on it. By clicking it (and clicking “enter and vote”) you are placing your vote for The Horde in a Redwall Top Site list! The counting is done by average votes per day, so a vote needs to be placed every day to keep us in spot, or else we’ll slip.
Lately I’ve noticed the competition heating up between a few sites, so if you could take a few seconds of your day and place a vote for this site, we can show them just who is boss around here
I think that about covers it for the new Horde. Thanks for reading through, and if you have any questions or comments, don’t hesitate to send me a PM or e-mail!
