Hall of Fame - new entries
I have added Hall of Fame entries for Durriac and Stryke. Durriac is the longest serving staff member ever (he's been second in command since the beginning of June 04 - I've been leader since then, but I had a hiatus, with TC in charge) and Stryke is the oldest remaining member, and has held various positions in the past. Congrats to these two!
Also, I am considering several other nominees for Hall of Fame recognition. Those will come later, though.
Post Count disabled on OOC boards
From now on, only RPing boards will raise your post count. Hopefully this won't send the OOC boards into a state of inactivity. I did this because it will tie in with another change, concerning the squadrons, listed below...
Shipyards board is gone
The Shipyards was supposed to be a place to build your own boat, but I never really saw the point of it, since no one uses it (or, if they do, they forget about their boat later and it's never heard of again.) Plus, who here actually knows anything about building a boat? I sure don't, which is why I never posted there.
So it's gone. You can still go to the Jetty to find a boat if you need one. The Horde has NPC (Non Player Character...er, object) boats for your use.
Library board slightly modified
The Library board was supposed to be a place to post your own writings and musings and for me to post official documents. But to keep it clean I said members had to PM their writings to me, and I'd post them, and no one can reply to keep it from getting cluttered. Well, now you can go post all you like, without running it by me first. Not that any of you will, of course. Nor will I, probably. I just didn't want to get rid of two boards in one day, so I decided to instead just change one.
And the big one...
Squadrons revamped
I had a majority of 5 whole people agree with my idea to re-format the legions, so I went ahead and did so. The ships are gone. There are now two legions; two, regular legions, with no special purposes for them. I have randomly split up our member count and placed half in each. New members will be assigned to one by me, depending on which legion needs more activity.
Each legion has its own category, and three boards - The War Room, for important stuff; the Barracks, for socialness; and the Training Centre, for boot camp type activities. Read more on the board descriptions, I don't feel like going into it again now.
The Troop Commander will be whoever has the highest post count. This means two things a) Post count/post rank means something now, and b) Since you can only raise your post count on RPing boards now (see above), this will mean you actually earn your ranking from now on, instead of just posting only on the OOC board. I am hoping this encourages RP posting, which, you know, is kind of what this site is designed for.
Current Troop Commanders are Ffasma and Typhoon/Flameclaw (All three have been active and deserve the position for their loyalty, but only two would've been able to be commanders, thus making one the odd man out, so for now Typh and Flame will share the duties of one legion.)
Now, you might think that since the position of Troop Commander depends on post count, and post count constantly changes, then we'd constantly be changing Troop Commanders. But I don't think that will happen - for one, post count depends on RP posts now, and those are far rarer than OOC posts, so post count won't change as much as you might think - and for two, the Horde really isn't in its most active state right now, so I don't think we'll have a lot of members vying for top spot, at least not for now.
And one more thing,
I'll be gone for 6 days, Tuesday-Sunday, which is why I did all this now instead of waiting for your say. Just when I'm becoming active again, too! Hopefully I'll retain my enthusiasm to post when I return, at least for a little while.
