Read the PM that I sent out, first. I don't feel like reiterating what I said there.
So....I'll probably end up retiring from leadership of The Horde (for a second time). No, really, this time I mean it. I don't want to carry the responsibility of running an online site to distract me from my goal of surviving the year relatively intact.
This raises the question, of course, of just who is going to take over running this place? My remaining oldies (Typhoon, Flameclaw, Legolas, Ffasma) aren't the most active of people. Oh, and there's Belfoe who I see is back, but I don't know if he counts. He generally disappears too.
So if you (even you newer members) feel you can handle running this site, feel free to contact me via PM and say so. I'll listen to all applications, though older members will get first crack at succeeding me.
Requirements? Simple:
--You don't have to be constantly active, but appearing now and then would be nice for your members.
--Understanding how to operate Proboards helps too.
--RPing doesn't have to be superb, but knowing what you're doing is a good thing.
--I'll still hang around a bit and will be a source of advice if needed, but you should have confidence in yourself to make decisions, follow through with them, reform the place as need be, contact other site leaders to set up events etc etc.
....And, you know, all the other general stuff that comes along with the job.
There's also the option of shutting this place down. It'd be tough, especially for one such as myself, and there's no real reason to other than the eventual lack of activity that is sure to occur. Right now it seems to be running strong, but we all know that will change. Activity always fluctuates in cycles, but, being the bleak pessimist I am, the whole ROC is slowly becoming less active, and The Horde isn't exempt from that any. "Why bother?" is basically the thought behind this idea. But feel free to shoot this thought down and yell at me over it.
Being weary of rambling, I'll end this post now and open this topic up to discussion, whether here on this thread, or through PM, or through any other means of communication you like to use. Any and all thoughts on successorship are welcome, or even debate the idea of closing the ol' place. Just....try not to harm any dolphins in the making of your post, 'kay? No reason, just...try not to.
(Several dolphins were harmed in the making of this post.)
