The badger walked into the tavern. He was wearing chain mail on his normal clothes, and an open-faced helmet was on his head. It was evident that, although Typhoon expected trouble, he was confident that he could fend off an attack from sea vermin. Typhoon looked around him and sighed.
It had been a bad day. He had lost his pay packet, with which he had hoped to buy a fine bottle of 25-year old cognac. But now, he had to satisfy himself with a few cheap beers. Flameclaw had thrashed himself in the Sparring Court again, and he had discovered a dent in most of his armour. The badger walked up to the bar and sat down at the far end.
"Your cheapest beer, and make it quick." the badger muttered to the bartender. Wordlessly, the female fox filled a glass full of a dubious looking mixture. She pushed it to him and gave him a look which clearly meant "Don't give any trouble here, or you'll regret it." Typhoon looked down at the beer and knew that it really was the cheapest beer. It was a light, murky yellow and seemed full of suspicious dregs.
Nonetheless, he raised the surprisingly clean glass to his lips and drank. It wasn't as bad as he'd hoped. It was quite mild, indicating that it had been diluted heavily and it was slightly flat, but it was otherwise alright.

*Durriac walked into the tavern, after having a pretty good day. He had just managed to come back from his vacation and was getting himself readjusted to the Horde again. He sat down next to Typhoon, giving his drink a questioning look.* "What were you trying to make there?" *He asked sincerely. He orders a beer for himself.*

The badger jumped slightly when he heard the voice next to him, partly because he had not noticed Durriac come in, and partly because it had been months since he heard the ferret's voice. Looking up at Durriac, the badger replied,"Just a beer, Durriac. I lost my money, otherwise you'd never see me drinking this stuff. I was planning on a cognac. Haven't seen you for awhile. Welcome back!" The badger took another swig at the beer.

"Lost your money? Tough luck. Nice to see you around too." *he takes a swig of his beer, savoring the taste he hadn't had in a long time* "Mmm. So anything big happen around these parts while I was away?"

Typhoon sipped his beer pensively, mulling over what had happened. Where to begin, that was the problem... "Well, I suppose I'll start from the most important news. You already know about Dirk taking over as Horde leader again. There's also been a reorganisation, with two ships and four legions, out of which one ship and two legions still don't have leaders. The threat on Truecreek has long been gone, and life here is back to as normal as it can logically get. Besides that, things have been very quiet here."

Yeah, what happened with that plot against Truecreek? *he took a sip absentmindedly*

Typhoon turned to Legolas. "Don't look at me, I've just lost my money. Try someone else." He turns back to Durriac, continuing their conversation. "Well, those assassin guys just disappeared. Vanished into thin air. You'd think they'd have stuck around to finish us off after expending so much effort." A momentary shadow passed over the badger's countenance. "I believe they'll try again, if not to kill Dirk, then at least for revenge. We killed at least a dozen of their best fighters."

Kazzor had entered the tavern in time to hear the last snippet of conversation from the other beasts. Life around the reformed Horde was slow and he was eager for something to do. And where else is it possible to meet a number of beasts than at a saloon, where there was always an available draft. He also had other motives. He was immensely interested in the new regiment that he had joined. A light division, and one without a leader. There was an opportunity here and Kazzor was ever a fox for opportunities.
However, promotion wouldn't be coming soon. He had left the Horde some time ago to continue his travels. He had also left a generous command of the Espionage Division under Truecreek's short regime. Time alone had been good for the fox, but he was now ready to again be a part of an army.
If he was to become a leader, he would have to get to know his peers a little better. Plus he was bored, so he generously made an offer to the unfamiliar otter. "Why go with water when there is a comrade who will buy you a finer drink? Come here lass." He really did not know the age of the otter, but he guessed that she was a few years younger than himself. He strode toward the counter and smiled at the rat on duty, who was filling in for Garliman while she took a nap. "Hello Boshello. It's been a long time. Give me a small glass of your wine, not the strong stuff, I'd prefer the mild version if you will." The rat smiled in return and hastened to complete the order.

The fox returned the smile. "You asked for a drink, didn't you? I'm just being friendly." Kazzor gazed at Legolas for a small time. "It may sound strange if I asked whether or not you were new here." He paused to take a sip of wine." After all, this is a reformed Horde and we are all new, but I don't think I've seen your face before. Tell me, lass, what is your name and what skills do you bring to our Horde?"

*Legolas toys with her glass* Yes, I am new. I heard about this place from some old members and decided I would try my luck. *she holds out her paw for a shake* My name is Legolas Greenleaf, and I am rather skilled with the bow and dagger if I may say so myself. I joined the Thyrllan army because I decided my skills would be of most use there. What army do you reside in?

**Archy Walked into the Pub, wearing a Coarse tunic Tucked into his Kilt. The respective localities where his Claymore and his quiver usually went were empty. Archy Looked around, and seeing a group sitting by the bar, he slowly walked up and sat down next to Kazzor, Ordering his Drink as he eased himself onto the Stool** 'I'll Have Stout, Thanks Matey.'

Flame had done surprisingly little after he'd finished in the training yards with Typhoon, his test for honesty in the Horde suceeding... unfortunatley. He'd been looking foreward to a chase when he left his silver plated dagger on the street. Even the saphire pummel stone hadn't stopped the first passerby from reading the name that was etched into the blade and handing it in.
Flame knew that Typhoon liked cognac and there were a few very nice bottles that were for sale in one of the bars, so he headed in to buy one for his friend. There he saw a small meeting, one of the beasts there was the badger in question. Flame snuck out again and headed around the back looking for a window or door.
The back door was fairly easy to find and it only took a moment for the bar tender to answer his knock. "Here," he said as he handed the rat a gold piece, "Don't say anything but when I come around to the bar, I'll go behind the badger and right at that moment, you take Typhoon's drink and give him a good cognac. He'll know if it's good and if it is, you can keep the change." The rat looked at the coin for a moment, turning it over in his surprisingly clean claws, "This 'ere coin is over fif'y years old, I'll need another for the good stuff." Flame grinned and grabbed the coin off the rat, punching a claw through the coin with ease. He handed it back saying, "That's solid gold, gold don't get outdated. And you're the fourth barbeast to try that trick on me." The rat grinned back at Flame and shaking his head at his own stupidity, headed back inside to play his part of the trick.
Flame stepped into the bar lightly on the balls of his footpaws, using his natural abililty of stealth to it's fullest extent. He moved gracefully through the bar till he was directly behind Typhoon. He winked to the barrat and as the cup was replaced, Flame laid his paws on Typhoon's shoulders and leaned forewards to say, "How could you drink that stuff? It looks like what I emptied out of my chamber pot!"

The badger gave another start. It didn't take much to startle him. If not for the fact that he knew the voice which had spoken to him, and for the cognac that had suddenly appeared in front of him, Typhoon's sword would already have been in his paw, ready for a fight. Turning around with a sigh, a slight smile on his face and the cognac in his hand, the badger replied,"Money isn't one of the things I have a lot of at the moment, hence the horrible drink. I'll have to pay you back next month. Cheers!"
Knowing his friend would not trick him by buying inferior drinks, the badger immediately knew who to blame when he tasted cheap ale instead of the cognac. If not for the fact that his olfactory senses were failing, Typhoon would have known at the first sniff that his friend was being cheated. Flame had paid for the whole bottle; he had gotten half a measure of cheap ale. Drawing his sword so fast he surprised himself, the badger pointed it at the rat, who was trying to make an escape with the coin.
"Give it back," said the badger in his most commanding tones. The rat replied in a wheedling tone," Of course, sir..." The rat reached for his pocket, as if he was going to take the coin out, but instead took out a dagger, which he flung at Typhoon. It barely missed him, tearing through his shirt under the armpit but not hitting his body. The rat, seeing that he had no choice but to run, took to his heels. The badger gave chase, brandishing his sword.

Kazzor shook Legolas' paw and listened as Legolas told him about herself. He had already guessed that she was an archer by the bow she carried. His ears pricked up a bit when she mentioned her regiment. So, he had been successful in finding the other Thyrllan member, how fortunate.
He was about to answer her question about himself, when Archerpaw sat beside him. Kazzor turned to give a small greeting when he noticed Boshello looking nervously toward Typhoon and the others and edging for the door. His curiosity peaked, the fox excused himself. "I'm sorry to cut this conversation short, but there is a matter which I feel needs looking into. "He turned to Legolas, "We will talk a little later, lass."
Kazzor exited the tavern through the front door. As soon as he was out of sight of those inside, he cut quickly toward the back door. Suddenly, he could hear Typhoon's angered voice inside the bar. There was a pattering of feet, and a short figure stumbled out the doorway. Kazzor grinned at the sneaky rat's attempt to trick the others. It was a good effort, but sadly, a rather foolish mistake. It was never wise to make an enemy of a badger. The fox felt a bit sorry for the rat. If Ty caught up with him, well....
Kazzor took chase. It wasn't difficult, though Kazzor's saber kept thumping against his leg. He ran with both arms free so he could take ahold of the bartender, who was a rather slow sprinter. Kazz easily caught up ann shoved the rat to the ground. He could have tackeld the beast, but the ground was moist and momentum would send them both sprawling in the dirt. No, he would let Boshello do that.
Quickly, Kazzor hoisted the rat to his feet and muttered that he was not to talk, but to stay quiet, so Kazzor could speak on his behalf.

*Legolas watched Kazzor go with a puzzled look on her face* Alright. Some other time. *she takes a sip of her drink just to be interupted by the conflict between the rat and Typhoon. As the rat threw the dagger she jumped to her feet, but as he escaped and Typhoon ran after she sat back down and shook her head* Some people excite to easily over a such a little thing as ale. But then again they are guys. *shakes her head again*

**Archerpaw quietly observed the excitment, watching carefully as the Badger seemed to get ready to do some boneing on a rat behind the bar, He turned his head as The Fox sitting next to him started to say something, then excused himself and left. Archy looked at the stout the Barkeep had put in front of him, then took a sip.
**Archy was feeling socially inclined, so he turned to the otter who had been on the other side of the fox, and extended his paw**
G'day matey!, M'name's Archy, any idea what all that was about?

The badger was hardly what anybeast would call a good runner, but he was determined not to let the rat that cheated his friend get away so easily. Still waving his sword like a madbeast, Typhoon slipped on a puddle, which was easy to miss in the dark, stormy, moonless night. The only light came from the occasional window.
Typhoon got up again, only to realise his quarry had disappeared. As the road was a straight one and the only other path was an alley to the left, he surmised that the rat had turned into it.
The badger smiled to himself. From experience, he knew that the alley in question came to a cul-de-sac about 300 feet in. The badger sheathed his sword and walked slowly into the alley, knowing that the rat had nowhere to run. He had not walked twenty paces when he realised that somebeast was shoving the rat down. Strangely, the same beast then picked the rat up! Typhoon stepped up his pace. The mysterious stranger could have been one of the bandits that roamed the town at night. As he drew nearer, the badger recognised the creature. It was Kazzor, the black fox. Perplexed, Typhoon exclaimed,"Kazzor? What are you doing here?
OOC: I said it was raining because it really is raining here. Thunder and all. I hope no one minds.
