Desko smirked and replied with an almost quiet, " Thanks..." He then stood up and followed Punka, actually a bit interested in her personality. " So, 'ow long you've been 'ere? " He asked curiously. He enjoyed how she went about dishing out kicks for punishments.

She shrugged,"One of the old crusties, been comin' n' goin for quite a bit, since saxifrage was around. I believe I came in right after Dirk and right afore Durriac."

Desko smirked. " So yer a hag in otherwords?" He replied jokingly. It surprised him that he used a joking form of sarcasm. He just shrugged though, as he began helping her with what she was doing.

Typhoon cursed under his breath. Bruises were alright, he'd had plenty of those, but Desko's assailant had gone too far. If they had slit his stomach open, which was not likely to happen, as Desko seemed more than able to take care of himself, the whole fort would have emptied out and a massive slaughter might have taken place, culminating in the burning down of the town. There was no one living in it but bandits, searats and the like anyway. Typhoon replied to Punka,"I'll just go back to the fort to report and look for Dirk."
The badger opened the door, but sprung back and slammed the door shut as three arrows thudded into the heavy oak door. There was a veritable army outside. Unfortunately, they weren't on the Horde's side. In the space of a moment, Typhoon had changed his opinion about the slaughter. It seemed like the Horde was not going to be the ones doing the slaughtering. More arrows thudded into the walls and door, followed by slingstones and javelins. The prisoners doing the cleaning grinned to each other and sat down on the floor, refusing to do anymore work, as they knew their rescue was imminent.
"Looks like we've got company." muttered the badger.

OOC: I'm pretty sure you're still in the tavern Typhoon, but tell me if I'm wrong, and I'll modify.
Desko, oddly enough laughed at Punka's reply, but he immediately stopped when he realized he was laughing. When he heard Typhoon's words, he drew his sword and strode over to the badger. " Whadya mean?" He asked a bit confused. He strode over to the door, opened it, and saw an arrow fly at his head. He did as Typhoon did and slammed the door shut. He then quickly backed up. " Who are they?"

Punka snarled,"Bloody vermin, I got enough of this 'n' the seas, I 'idn't want this... " She said, anger building. She turned and spat at those who had stopped cleaning,"Aye, you really think if we used you as beastie sheilds they wouldn't kill you to get to us? lemme tell ya, they're filthy, and they don't care a lick a'out you, all they want is 'ee valubles, so get yore filthy hides back to work if you don't want examples made out of yourselves.

OOC: Yeah, I'm still inside.
BIC: One of the rats stood up and spoke in a haughty voice. "Ha! What do you scum know? Those are my men out there! It's not even a fifth of my army! I am the great General...Umph!
The rat's words were cut short by Typhoon's gauntleted fist, which knocked him out stone cold. The idiot had presented himself as a hostage, which explained why the enemy was laying siege to the four of them instead of burning them out.
The badger crouched down, took off the rat's filthy tunic and used it to bind and gag him. The other rats, seeing that Typhoon would brook no nonsense from them, got back to work. Typhoon was feeling more energetic than he had felt for years. It was probably the adrenalin. He had never been involved in a fight of these proportions. His aches and pains gone, Typhoon felt fifteen seasons younger. He began looking around for a bow and arrows.
"If I remember correctly, I hid one under a floorboard a few months ago..."

A loud banging issued from the back room and then a scream that was cut short. The door burst open and Flame spat out a hunk of something red, presumably meat, and gave a start as he saw Punka, Desko and Typhoon. "I was going to tell you about the attack, but..." Flame finished by holding up his paws, blood soaked rope from where it'd dug into the flesh was tied around each wrist, a snapped peice between them. "I just woke up too," he continued, fingering a lump on his head with a trickle of blood down one side of his face. "Is there an attack already?" he asked as a slingstone smashed a windown and he ducked quickly. He didn't wait for an answer, the other projectiles being enough of one. Instead, he looked around for a weapon, choosing on a heavy walking staff that someone had dropped. Hefting the weapon in a paw, he looked around at the others. "So... where am I, this isn't where I got that little bump and it deffinitely doesn't seem like the place to be without my weapons."

Typhoon had finally found his bow and arrows after frantic searching. He was stringing the bow when he saw Flameclaw. The sight of the wildcat shocked Typhoon. Whoever did that to him was either a great fighter or a sneaky underhand cur who ambushed Flameclaw and brought him down. The latter seemed more likely. "What happened to you?" Typhoon asked as he notched an arrow to his bow and fired it out of the window which the slingstone had smashed. He was rewarded with a scream from a stoat as he fell down from his perch on a rooftop, dropping his bow as he fell. A barrage of projectiles answered the badger, and he dropped to the ground, unharmed except for a arrow that had penetrated his chain mail and given him a small scratch. The vermin were really bad shots.
Two javelins had landed near the badger. He tossed them over to Flameclaw and Desko. "There are plenty of stones around too! We can use their own ammunition against them!" Typhoon said as he crawled towards the window. He sprung up, grabbed a table top and placed it on the window table, leaving a small firing slit. Safe for the moment, the badger set out closing the shutters, bolting the doors, creating firing slits in the smashed windows and in general, fortifying the place.

Desko caught the javelin with his left paw and twirled it expertly while twirling his blade in his right. He then smirked. He was going to use his blade and a long knife, but now, he had two long weapons, making him even deadlier. He could sometimes go mad when using two weapons at once, but he contained himself when he realized Typhoon was boarding the place up.
Quickly, he ran over to one of the windows, and put his weapons aside. He then drew his bow and arrow, getting ready to snipe out beasts from the slit in it. He slipped a new toothpick into his mouth, and let it slide around as he notched an arrow. He closed his left eye and aimed at a rat who was leading a group towards his window. Then he fired, biting on the toothpick as he shot. The rat fell over, immediately dead, from the strike of the arrow inbetween his eyes. Desko then notched as second arrow, getting ready to shoot a fox.

The javelin was a good weight and it was not rough-and-ready job, someoen must have looted a weaponsmith's place to get something of this quality. Flame discarded the staff, a weapon of that weight could crack limbs and in his paws he had now doubt that he could smash heads completely off the bodies. But only if he used two paws. In one paw it wouldn't be fast enough to fight with when surrounded. He opened a windown and stepped back as a shower of assorted missiles flew in, mainly slingstones and arrows, but two javelins also came in and, amazingly, a throwing knife. Flame slammed the window shut again and grabbed the javelins and started 'playing' with the knife. Most beasts would call it showing off, and the main reason he learned it was to intimidate opponents. Now he did it out of nervousness, they didn't have much chance unless they could sally without turning into pincushions. "We can't shoot the lot of them... is there something else we could do? Could we get out and close enough make their bows useless?"

Typhoon replied as he notched another arrow to his longbow. "We've got the prisoner. He's got to be someone important, or they'd have tried to burn the place down by now. I believe there's some food in the back. This was a tavern after all. We could just hole up here and wait for reinforcements. Someone's bound to realise we're missing. So many vermin could not possibly be missed by our intelligence sources."
The badger ran to his firing slit, which faced the north. That is, the back of the tavern. The back door in the back room had been barred by the badger with two planks, bits of a broken chair, and a heavy table. Desko was at one of the two west-facing windows, both of which had been converted into firing slits. There were two more such windows on the east side and one to the left of the south-facing door. As for the tavern itself, it was an old but solid one-floor building, the bottom 1 foot of its 8 foot walls made of rough-hewn stone, the other 7 feet made of an unidentifiable hardwood. The roof was tiled with red tiles and the floor with flagstones.
Typhoon pulled back the arrow, took careful aim at a bow carrying rat, was about to fire, but stopped. He realised the rat was notching a fire arrow to his bow! There were many other archers doing the same, and the light of braziers lit up the cloud-darkened sky. Typhoon shouted an unintelligible imprecation. So the rat had been lying!
"There's fire archers outside...!" Before he could finish, the archers let go a volley of flaming arrows, most of which landed harmlessly on the tiled roof. But some hit the wooden walls, and the old wood started to burn. Alarmed, Typhoon let his arrow go, and it struck down a ferret next to the rat he had been aiming at. As Typhoon notched another arrow, he heard the rumble of thunder. He sighed with relief. If they could just survive until the thunderstorm started, they would at least be saved for awhile. His spirits renewed, Typhoon shot a weasel archer on a rooftop. He did not kill his target immediately, but his arrow hit the weasel in the arm, causing him to release his flaming arrow prematurely before falling to his death. The arrow the weasel fired hit a spear-wielding fox in the stomach, and set him on fire. The dying screams of that fox brought back sad memories for the badger, who had seen his father come to such a sorry end. He shook it off, picked up his stave and went off to extract vengeance on the prisoners, who would not be needed anymore.
OOC: Sorry about the minor autoing, I thought it would be slightly more interesting.

ooc: Alright, sure thing
bic: Desko had easily disposed of the group of vermin who had ran stupidly at his shooting slit. He then snarled as he smelled the tavern starting to set aflame. He ran over to Legolas and gently grabbed her shoulder. He pulled her so that she was looking at him. " You! Take my firing slit, I gotta get 'elp!"
He then ran over to Typhoon. " Which window should I go out of? We need to get help."

"You won't get very far without someone like me guarding your back," Flame grinned and continued, "We might be able to find a way into the Underwarren from here. I think that they carried me out of the basement, I wasn't fully conscious then but I would wager a gold mark that there's a way down into the tunnels that riddle the town. I discovered this after buying a couple of drinks for a couple of workbeasts that found a tunnel when they were digging foundations. A beast in the tunnel had attacked the diggers and as he lay dying from a cracked skull and several other injuries, spades are good weapons, he said "Tell nobody or we'll getcha" When they asked who, he said "Us of the Underwarrens" That's where I think that I was carried through when I was taken here." Flame looked Desko in the eyes, his face hard and emotionless, "Are you game?'
