OOC: I guess so, so no more pure OOC posts from now on, posts must include RPing.

Typhoon let his bowstring go slack as he slumped against the wooden walls, the spray from outside dampening his tunic. The rain and the darkness had earned the Hordebeasts a temporary respite, though their prospects of surviving seemed rather dim if reinforcements didn't arrive. Death did not bother the badger too much, seeing that he had no family to leave behind and that he had already written his will. Being of a pessimistic nature, Typhoon had expected death for quite a few seasons. He certainly didn't welcome it; he wasn't that pessimistic, but he knew that some things just couldn't be avoided.
He let out a deep sigh, unslung his quiver and started counting his arrows. Sixteen left. He'd just have to make every shot count. He reached for his stave, took out a small knife, and tried to sharpen the tip of the oak wood stave into a point. Scarcely had he put knife to wood when the old rusted blade snapped. Muttering another imprecation, Typhoon decided to ask Flameclaw for help. He wasn't called Flameclaw for nothing.
"Flame? Would you mind helping me sharpen the tip of this stave into a point?"

Flame had never given up before, mainly because he'd never not survived. Sure many times things hadn't gone his way, like the assasination attempt on Truecreek, but even from that he'd only come out with an arrow through the leg and another through the arm. Now that he had nothing to do and everything seemed hopeless he started questioning if they'd make it out.
Typhoon's call pulled Flame out of his revere and left something sitting in the back of his mind, a hope of salvation that was just out of reach. He got up and moved over to Typhoon and took the stave and remarked, "My claws aren't blades, they're like stilletoes. But I can still help you, like this," Flame took the blade in his claws and gripped it tightly, the strong claws hardly even taking an imprint from the blade as it dug deep into the wood. "If we don't survive, I won't hold any claw damage against you, however, if we do, then I'll have you with a file fixing them up again... understand?" Flame looked at Typhoon with a serious face.... with the corners of his mouth twitching upward.
Suddenly, he dropped the knife blade and stave and leapt to his footpaws, shouting "Eurika!" he then called out, "Anyone got paper? A pen would be nice too but it's not half as important as the paper." The wildcat exitedly grabbed Typhoon's bow and wound the string a couple of times around the end, tightening the string. He then tested it by pulling it to his ear with relative ease. "Too easy," he muttered as he tightened the string again, this time much more than before. On trying the bow again, he was unable to pull it further than his left shoulder. He handed the bow to Typhoon, saying, "You try it, badgers have more raw strength than a wildcat, even old ones!"
OOC: You have to be able to pull it further, what Flame said is very true!

Typhoon smiled back, and registered only slight surprise at Flame's antics. He had gotten used to it anyway. He recieved the bow while feeling around in his pocket. "Yes, I've got some paper here."

Desko, was puzzled why they would need paper, but he igored it and strode over to a window. Flames were dieing, and now the beasts wanted in. They began to pull apart the windows. Desko's eyes enflamed and he ran over with the javelin, and patiently waited for them to pull off the barracade. Once they did, they'd be greeted with a quick blade striking them.

Typhoon notched an arrow and pulled it back to his ear. Flame was right; the bow felt harder to pull but Typhoon knew the arrow would hit with more force. The badger took aim at one of the firing slits which was being broken open. By the light of the full moon, he could just make out a squad-sized unit of the assorted vermin brigands ready to break in. They were all armed with different weapons, and a large fox was smashing at the barricade with a long sabre. The vermin all seemed very confident about their not being spotted. Confident, but without much cause to be. If even the old badger could spot them without being seen, then it said a lot about their level of readiness.
Typhoon figured that if he could kill the fox and take the sabre, he would stand more chance against the vermin. Finally, the fox broke through the barricade, and the wood fell to the stone floor with a resounding crash.
Knowing that the element of surprise was lost, the fox tried to jump through into the almost pitch-black darkness of the besieged tavern. He didn't get far. At a range of a dozen feet, the badger couldn't miss even if he wanted to. The arrow was fired with so much force that it passed right through the torso of the fox, killing him almost instantly. The fox looked down at his wound, dropped his sabre inside the tavern, groaned, and fell down, dead. Seeing their leader dead for no apparent reason, the brigands immediately beat a hasty retreat, screaming something about the tavern being haunted. Typhoon quickly darted forward and grabbed the sabre, pushing the dead fox out of the tavern and into the rainy night. He put the sabre into his belt and retreated back to his corner of the tavern.
As the badger sat down, he realised that he hadn't eaten since breakfast, and that it was now past midnight. He put his bow down and went into the back room, looking for food.

Flame had worked feverishly as soon as he'd gotten the paper and by the end of it, had a note on which was written quite intelegibly, We are in a tavern, you will know which because it is seiged and was burning. Please come with aid. "Typhoon," he called, "Can you fire an arrow up to the horde headquarters?" The arrowhead was now blunt and padded slightly, perfect for delivering the message that was wrapped around the shaft.

Typhoon replied while in the back room,"I suppose I could, if I had a clear field of fire. Don't be too optimistic, though; I doubt my bow has the necessary range. Anyway, the town buildings are blocking us. However, if we were to take over one of the three-storey stone buildings surrounding this tavern, then, by firing from the roof, I suppose I might have a chance."
Typhoon returned to the main room, bearing a bottle of red wine, a pear, a loaf of rye bread, and half a small wheel of cheese. "All I could find. If we decide to move, we'll have to bring them along."

Flame ripped a hunk of the cheese and part of the loaf and stuffed them down and swallowed them quickly. He looked around the tavern then said as he tightened the bowstring of Typhoon's bow and tested it. "With that you'll either reach the Horde headquarters or snap the bow. We'd have a line of sight to Dirk's apartments from the left of the tavern roof. Do you think that you'd be able to get up there?" he asked as he started looking at the rafters, solid heavy timbers, designed to stand a minor fire and not fall if put out quickly.
OOC: sorry, I couldn't have the roof collapsing under us... and knowing you, you'd make it do that!

"I suppose I could get up there... if I stood on a chair. I can see a small trapdoor in the roof. I could fire from there. Yes, I think we can make this work. I just hope I don't hit Dirk. Good thing the rain's still falling."
OOC: I know... either that or I'd fall off.

"Good, then there's a chair," said Flame as he slid a chair over to the badger and moved closer to examine the trapdoor. It was heavy wood and clearly designed like the rest of the building. It only moved slighlty when Flame leapt up and shoved at it. It moved much more when he stood on a rafter and pushed hard. The trapdoor opened outwards and a heap of dust and straw fell in on the beasts beneath, the thatching being dry underneath the wet outer layer. Flame spat it out as he looked around out the hole. "You won't need to climb out of the hole at all," he said as he dropped to the floor, "You've got a clear view to the headquarters from the trapdoor."

Typhoon climbed up on the chair. By sticking his head through the trapdoor and into the pouring rain, he was able to get a view of the Horde headquarters. Though it was dark and raining, the full moon was not blocked by any clouds, and it gave him enough light to see the fortress. Notching the arrow with the message to his bow, he took aim at what he presumed to be Dirk's room and fired. The arrow flew into the darkness and was lost to his view.

As the badger fired, Flame leaped up to see the arrow shooting toward it's target. Though his eyes weren't that much better in distance than most, he was excelent when it came to low light situations. The arrow was headed into the main courtyard before even Flame ceased to be able to make it out. "Now we just have to wait." he said as he dropped down to the floor again.

OOC: So uh, my fiendish plan doesn't seem to be taking off. I'm waiting on someone, and they haven't shown, so...*shrug*
You guys have more time it looks like. Do you still want me to come save all ya, or will you work it out yourselves?
And uh, I haven't read all the posts, but if you're in the town, firing an arrow into my room would be impossible. The Town is a little ways away from the Fortress, and also downhill. But hey, go ahead and bend the rules, I don't care too much at this point.

OOC: We're bending the rules.... and overbending a bow. Flame couldn't bend the bow further than his shoulder... and Typhoon bent it to his ear. I think I'm speaking for the characters in saying, Yes, save us.... I guess that we'll be doing pure OOC posts for a while again. Fyi, the arrow is bluntned and padded, so it'd give a beast a nasty bruise but it'd be unlikely to cut badly.

OOC: It'd be even more unrealistic if we could survive another day of this siege, so I agree with Flameclaw.

OOC: The trapped beasts won't be able to fight at their best as it is.... it twenty-four hours, they'd probably have to make the choice to fight to the death or to surrender (they would almost be garanteed death if they tried to fight after then).
