((Well, the fact that there are very few active members remaining on either side is pretty much what brought it down. Too bad. I might as well join the Horde now, as Tatterack is pretty dead these days. XP))

Lol, it is! I had a look over there..... Lol, only one thread that I saw had been updated within the week!
At least here we've got an active OOC board!

Yes, but it's not the most active OOC board I've ever seen... As a member of both, I'd say Tatterack never was quite as active as the Horde, at least not in each site's glory days. Which is too bad; it's a great site. We need mucho advertisement to bring them up. The ROC may be dying, but we sure as hell won't go down without a fight! Well, you guys won't. I'll be inactive within a couple weeks again

YOU!!!!!!!!!!! *Stabs Dirk repeatedly for being an inactive leader.*
Actually *Patches up the little mousey for at least giving them warning.*
Yep.... The whole ROC seems to be dying that's true....
The fact is Dirk, the OOC board IS active! It really is! *cough cough* some others aren't......

Ow. Repeated stabbing hurts y'know But it could be more active! Don't settle for less, advertise on other ROC sites and bring in the new members to keep us going strong! And while you do that...I'll go inactive again *Puts on anti-stabbing armor*

I don't think the ROC is dying. Not the sites I frequent, at least.
Well, I shouldn't say frequent. Technically speaking I'm fairly new to the ROC.
Anyway, is this raid thing now officially dead?

It would appear so.. you know that it's probably dead when people stop putting OOC:s at the beginning of their OOC posts.
Dirky, I know that it hurts, and it's for going inactive. However, since I didn't REALLY stab you, it's not too bad... Lol... I promise to never stab you repeatedly if you stay active....
Anyways, I KNOW THAT IT ISN'T PERFECT AND IT NEEDS TO BE MORE ACTIVE!!!! *deep breath*
Sorry, but I don't visit ANY active RPing sites reciently

The ROC is dying, no doubt about it. I can count on one hand the number of active, good RPing sites. 5, 6 years ago there were 5 times as many (I wasn't really around, only made a first appearance back then, but several acquaintances of mine are oldies from the era). The majority of sites now are DAB carbon copies.
Mm, I love whining about this topic. ^_^

I totally agree, it's an excelent whining topic and it's really sad that we keep whining about it
and it's also sad that it IS dying!

*checks a bunch of sites* Okay, maybe it /is/ dying. Heh.
Well, I don't think I was around when it was in its prime anyway, so what do I know?

OOC: ((Look who it is! haha... ive been resurrected! O:-))
Yeah... just wanted to say sorry for kinda leaving it in the middle of our retreat. I thought I left at a good time but I shouldnt have left for this long anyhow... First I went to Romania to the orphanges there, helping out and stuff, and when I got back I guess I was in a stage of culture shock and I couldnt really think about anything straight. So yeah... there's my "excuse", its lame, I know. But its hard for me to drag myself back into character some times... Oh yeah, there was another big reason, as soon as I got back ---April 10th---every day was devoted to memorizing my lines for a play my cast hadnt barely practiced for that was coming up on the 27th... talk about hectic. But still, even if all of that were enough reason to stop me from posting, I should've at least told you guys...
I also realize that this was actually Sabac's mission, so I guess it wasnt really my responsibilty to maintain the RPG... but I guess that's just a team-thing, its everyones responsibilty... when one person dies out, everyone considers it a loss and gets gloomy, to which we lose more people...

Ohhh goshhh Fearclaw, I swear the ROC used to be the best thing everrr... like seriously, jeez, it was soo great. With 400 members at the vermin site Sampetra:INSU and around that amount at the goodbeast site Camp Willow and other clubs and armies growing all around there were ACTIVE wars everywhere. it was hard to not find a fight wherever you went. But you know what? I gotta admit it, i liked the old boards better than the ones we use now... idk, there was something exciting about the ROC back then... now we just got Halo. gosh. lol
if you guys couldve seen Sampetra:INSU in its golden days, you would've seen the reason us webmasters try so hard to form another just like it...

Hey Jadak, don't feel too bad, I don't even HAVE an excuse for ditching things I'm such a bad leader I saw INSU in it's glory days...kinda. I first found the ROC years ago, and actually scouted out two sites to join - DAB and INSU. I tried to join both, but never could find the link to INSU again (I was a fairly incompetent computer user back then...well, still am, in fact). But I also caught DAB in a state of inactivity, gave up and left. I eventually re-found it years later, and that was the actual start of my ROC stint. I think DAB's the problem of the ROC dying, y'know. Since only it is linked to Redwall.org, all the newbies go there now, and it creates a backlog. They all stay there or start their own, petty, carbon-copy sites. Most can't even RP very well. And yeah, I like the old Voy boards too, if those are what you're talking about, Jadak. But I somehow doubt those will make a comeback. Instead we can all just sit around and moan about the ROC dying

Yeah... I'm so glad that someone had their site in their siggy there... forgive me if this offends you, I REALLY don't like DAB... bad forum layouts... impossible to write decienlty long posts... at least, I didn't find out how....
We should get whateverhisname to put the Horde on the Redwall website.. and a few other good boards!

I don't like DAB much anymore, either. But I can't blame any one thing for it. Just too many newbies settling for the RPing there. Too few are branching out anymore, trying to find better RPing places.
And you can write decently long posts inside the subject line on their boards. Most are just content with short posts now.
And there's no way anymore sites are getting on Redwall.org. Several have tried. A site has to be very special to get up there, whereas most now are just copies of one another, nothing that makes them stand out or anything.

I've read WoT. Great series. I've read A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin too. Even better series. But the best fantasy series I've ever read is the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, by Steven Erikson. Quality literature, if it wasn't for the genre label it would be a classic. Every character is deep, and real, and he makes you feel for them, since none can truly be termed as "good" or "evil". It is all gray area. And if I were to list my 10 favourite characters in fantasy, I can think of 5 of Erikson's off the top of my head that would make the list. You find yourself cheering for both, or all, sides at once. It purposely tries to break any cliches about fantasy that have developed over the years. And while Jordan and Martin put out a new book every 3-5 years, Erikson's books are just as long or longer, and he gets a new one out every year. Not to mention extra novels and novellas on the side (along with co-creator Ian Cameron Esslemont, who is writing several shorter companion novels to go with the main series). *cough* I'm done. Erikson deserves more mainstream recognition, and I'm doing my part as an Erikson Reading Cult member to spread the word

I like real characters. Too much popular literature now, like the Da Vinci Code is really focused on plot and forgets to have believable characters.

Lol yeah... I hated the Da Vinci Code..
WoT is great... I just found Knife of Dreams in the library.. my friend has the whole set in really good condition, so good that he doesn't want to read or lend them!!
