Story Version (it really isn't that long, but some beasts just don't like to read, eh?)
Selene Wildpaw is a fifteen season-old weasel from the village of Lunara. Her mother, Dahlia, was the daughter of a farmer. Her father was a hot-blooded pirate captain whom had vanished before Selene's birth, never to return. The villagers feared to speak of him and Dahlia didn't tell her daughter anything about him, almost as if he was a bad memory. How this strange couple came to be is still unknown. In Lunara, the farming inhabitants worshiped the moon goddess and lived in complete serenity and peace. Until Selene came along, that is. She had her father's corsair blood in her, and she was too wild and unruly for the villagers to feel at ease around her. They constantly told her mother to teach her some discipline and put her in her place. Behind her and her mother's back, they whispered, "Something must be done about that child. She doesn't belong here." The question was: what could be done? Selene continued to live as an outcast in the small farming community until her 15th birthday, often leaving in the dead of night to hunt for birds and fish, meat being forbidden in the village. One night, when her mother was fast asleep in their small hut, Selene gathered up a small harversack of food. She knew she was unwanted here, and that the whispers would never go away. She had found a trunk covered in woven blankets several weeks ago before leaving to hunt one night. Upon openening it, she discovered two beautiful silver crescent blades with strange markings running down the edges. A pair of thigh straps lay next to them. The knives were beautiful, but wickedly sharp. She accidentally nicked her paw while she was turning them over to examine them, a bit of blood welling on the pad of her paw. She stared at it, realizing that this was what she wanted. Her father's blood lust was in her, and she felt a strange want to kill. She took the blades out and practiced with them every night in a clearing in the woods, becoming adjusted to them so it was like they were a part of her. So it was several weeks after she found them that she gathered up the blades and strapped them on, smiling at the way they glinted dangerously in the moonlight. She grabbed the small sack of food and bolted from the village, intent on finding the first horde possible, driven on by blood lust and the rewards that she knew had to come with victory.
