As Shadow moved looking for members off the hord he spotted the raiders ships. "If I light them on fire they will be stuck here and we can kill them all." He thought to himself. He found several small branches that would work as spears. He puts one on each of the ships and sets them ablaze.

@ Shadow: I think there's a separate thread for the Tatterackians guarding their ship(s), if you want to go there to do that. Not to mention you might want to give them a chance to defend themselves before you just go ahead and say the ship(s) went up in flames. Ketzal's ears pricked up... were those whispers? Or perhaps just the rustling of the loot in his bag? He turned, but wasn't sure if he saw a head quickly pulling itself out of sight... or if it was just his imagination. Better safe than sorry, he thought to himself. The stoat shed his cloak to allow himself freer movement and left the torches and his bag of trinkets on the counter. His paw went to his scimitar, half-drawing it as he padded cautiously toward the door.

The badger kept moving, ignoring Aranel. She sighed in exasperation. It wasn't supposed to be this hard so early on. She waved her torch slightly, not wanting to attract too terribly much attention to herself.
"'Lo, Badger!" she cried out again to the massive beast.
Rane jogged closer to the badger, paws near her weapons in case he reacted unexpectedly. She had an odd glint in her eyes, the she-wolf did.
"'Ey, badger! What's going on here?"
((And Shadow, that's a major auto there, lighting fire to those ships just out of the blue. Also, there's only one raider ship.))

OOC: Yeah, ummm, not to rub it in any further but I mean, yeah that's a pretty big auto right there, Shadow. You just paraphrased 10+ posts(not including enemy forces) in ONE. Hmmm... might wanna redo that in the right thread... And that's not even considering that we've made posts of our ships being guarded... RPGing is give and take buddy. And umm... Ffasma/Legolas... lol... It cracks me up seeing you guys still going on Sabac's post. He was tapping me and Adrean on the shoulder NOT you guys. We're not even in the remotely same area! Man, lol, hopefully that's done with. No offense to you guys, of course... BIC: **The darkness of the hall threw off his eyes for a second, but not much longer. Jadak's eyes were young and already somewhat used to the darkness of night.**
"Halt! Who goes there, friend or foe?" came the voice of what could only be a badger.
**Jadak's hackles rose, but he refused to let himself growl. His jade eyes turned ice cold, and deepset on whatever hulking form it was that was rushing him and apparently Sabac and Adrean who had just touched him on the shoulder.**
**Thinking quickly, but cunningly, Jadak hurriedly spat out in a voice of fear, "Friend m'lord!" With both his fists he pressed both Adrean and Sabac toward the door hoping they would understand. "We are three m'lord! The northern wall is under attack, we are but of few survivors! Many have fallen!"**
**After Adrean and Sabac had stepped out Jadak followed, pushing the door wide and calling back to the badger saying, "Help us m'lord! We cannot take them all!" Without waiting for a response he rushed out the door. Running to the left, out of the badger's limited sight through the doorway, Jadak stopped five feet away from the door. Drawing his second saber, he quickly kissed Silvermoon's token, which he had had a blacksmith set into his pommel. Every nerve he possessed was tense and set on whatever should come through the door. This would be his 7th encounter with a badger. Jadak smirked on the inside. You were born to be a (wild)cat, Jhov had told him. Well if that was true, he still had two lives. Jadak let a smile slip, which turned into a baring of fangs. Let it be true, Jadak thought, I have escaped death far too many times to die here on so petty a task.**

Dagglur found himself approaching some of the more tightly packed streets of the town, where there were a number of shops and places that held rooms for rent. Most of them ablaze... He managed to not get overly frustrated as he strolled nonchalantly down an alleyway. His dodge and jump from one shadow to another method seemed to have worked, but didn't seem necessary... Dagg hadn't been able to locate anybody at all. But then, speak of the devil...
He heard a soft clink of metal, like a blade very deliberately being muffled. Or trying to be, anyway. Without making hardly any visible motion, he drew a dagger from his belt and slid it up into his sleeve, holding it in place lightly with his fingertips. There were only so many ways he could do this... It was an alleyway, not very much trouble in finding where his follower was. He might very well be wearing armor, so throat would be best... He had assumed he had all this time to think, but his attacker wasn't so patient. Dagglur swung around just in time to throw his arm out, the dagger sliding out of his sleeve and into his hand. He made a neat swipe across the throat, catching the jugular quite efficiently. Unfortunately, such a death isn't a fast one... So he covered the stoat's mouth for a few seconds while he bled out. He didn't like killing... Not really. Oh well.
He decided to go back to his previous method, now approaching the outlet of the alleyway, a small window to his left which shone inward to a jewelry shop... He cocked his head slightly, watching a shadowy figure supposedly emptying out all the drawers. Crap. Maybe he could knock this one out and interrogate him... He cleaned off his other dagger and readied it as well.

*She had to wait a bit, but finally Ffasma turned to her and said* I will tell you when we are on safer ground. I have had bad experiences...but I don't want the enemy hearing about that. *She looked rather edgy, and Legolas decided that it was best to wait like she said. As they walk, suddenly Ffasma stops, and holds up her paw. She goes and peers in a doorway and then turns back to Legolas.*
There's someone in there...and they're not on our side. On the count of three, we run and and ambush them, ok?
*Legolas stiffened. Her first meeting with the enemy. She had been anticipating and dreading it all night. And now it was here. Slowly, she nodded and readied herself to throw herself onto the dark figure looting the jewelry shop*

OOC: I don't even know why I shouted friend or foe... Like anyone would ever say they were foes... Man, it seems everyone hates badgers... BIC: "Friend m'lord! We are three m'lord! The northern wall is under attack, we are but of few survivors! Many have fallen! Help us m'lord! We cannot take them all!"Typhoon was suspicious. No one at the fort had ever called him "m'lord" before. Also, there was an awkward silence before the answer was given. The voice seemed somehow...different, though he could not pick out how. Neither could the badger hear any sound of the alleged battle going on on top of the north wall. The door had also been thrown open, and the three supposed Horde soldiers had disappeared around the corner.
The more Typhoon thought about it, the more it seemed like a trap to him. Though the evidence before him might have made any normal creature suspicious, the badger was now positively paranoid. The badger made a quick decision.
If he rushed out of the door, shouting and raising the alarm, and there was a battle on the north wall, the Horde's main forces at the south side would be alerted and would come running round to help. If there wasn't, and the three were enemies, then the Horde's forces would still be alerted and would come and deal with the three intruders. Having made his decision, Typhoon charged out of the doorway, swinging wildly with his sword while shouting loud enough to raise the dead. "RAISE THE ALARM! INTRUDERS ON THE NORTH SIDE!"

"'Lo, Badger!"
*Hearing the cry Unwythe turned with a swift action, as squinted his eyes, over the crack his cloak made with his sudden turn. Unwythe co-cked his head to the side, as he spotted the wolf near him. Now Unwythe couldn't tell if this was foe or friend, but he had a bad habit to not trust anyone except hares or fellow badgers. Not only that but to see the wolf holding a weapon as if to assassinate him from behind. But if she was going to assassinate him, why would the wolf cry out his name, as if to warn him. There was no honor among vermin, was there?*
"'Ey, badger! What's going on here?"
*Unwythe decided to hold his impulse to attack and to question the beast instead of just rushing forward and cleaving the wolf in two. Which was a bad idea to begin with because he'd never faced a wolf before, and didn't know how vicious they were in battle it was very near possible that wolf's had ferocity to rival badgers. But Unwythe tried not to show his conflict as he raised his eyebrows and spoke up* What are you doing here wolf? Tell me who your allied with, and why do you speak to me as if I was filth?"
*The more questions he asked, the more Unwythe became suspicious of the Wolf's allegance, Unwythe gripped his long sword tighter in his paws, and readied himself if the wolf were to attack. Unwythe cursed himself inwardly for not having his ability for BloodWrath anymore. It would have come in handy several times, then again, if he thought about it, if he would have been under the control of bloodwrath he would've died under that rats spear. But Unwythe had to physically stop himself from shruging, clearing his mind Unwythe knew it was not exactly a good thing to have ones mind distracted from battle if the need arise. He'd already done that once and a wolf had snuck up on him. He would not make that mistake twice...*

(OOC: Jadak, we weren't following Sabac's post. I went back and fixed that. I wasn't talking about you guys, I was talking about Ketzal. No worries ^_^ Not confused anymore.)
BIC: *Ffasma lingers a moment, straining her ears for any sound. It was the absence of sound, however, that made Ffasma wonder. Perhaps the beast had heard them. Holding up a paw, Ffasma counts off the numbers. One...two...three! Launching herself, the ferret dashes into the building, ready to fight if need be. So much for avoiding the enemy, she thought grimly.*

"RAISE THE ALARM! INTRUDERS ON THE NORTH SIDE!"
**As soon as the great beast's snout came through the doorway, Jadak's right arm snapped straight, aiming a blow at the badger's midsection. Unfortunetly, the beast had swung viciously upon coming out and Jadak's attack was deflected. Centering himself in his small line of battle, he quickly observed his surroundings with his peripheral vision. To his left were the ramparts for the northern wall but also, if he were to jump, the stairs. It was a narrow lane to fight in, being between the ramparts and the fortress, and the badger took up much of the space. Jadak noticed this, which wasn't hard considering the badger's size(not fat-wise... you know what I mean ), the badger would be much more crowded than Jadak and would therefore be limited to smaller attacks in certain situations. Jadak would not lose this advantage.**
**Jadak, then, bounded backwards to put space between them. What are the chances I'd meet a badger, Jadak thought, wishing for his notorious spiked-staff. Ah well, we'll just call this an experimental deathmatch, eh? Taking a defensive stance, he turned sidewise and placed his right foot forward and left foot back, holding his right-hand sword low and left-hand sword high in the air.**

*Adrean steps out of the doorway at Jadak's bidding, and waits, his eyes glancing once to a place on the north wall. he sees the mighty badger come roaring out of the door way, rising the alarm, and swinging his sword. The wolf blocks, just barely, and slides out of the way backwards, his sword nearly being knocked from his hand as he backs up to allow Jadak room to manuver. He throws his hand up in an upward sclice to the air, appearing to be some sort of signal. a split secand later two arrows come wistling through the night twords the badgers right knee and face (one each, respectivly). He hopes this will end it quickly. Though he has faith in Jadak's combat skills, a badger was nothing to take lightly.*

OOC: ... Daaang... I leave for three days and I'm 2 pages behind! GAH! Took me over half an hour to read over everything! Meh! Here I go!
BIC: *After a quick swig of fine red wine, the enormous wolverine broked through the wall of the liquor and wine shop. Mattak was getting bored smashing through buildings and burning things. All of the opposition had fled to defend their fort. Perhaps he'd pay a little visit. He still had some killing to do. As he was about to run off, he noticed Ketzal slip into a nearby jewelry shop. Good ol' Ketz... but lurking in the shadows were two smaller beasts that he believed were not for tatterack. Mattak pressed himself against the building he was near (that wasn't on fire... yet) and watched as the two creatures were, apparently, trying to rush Ketzal. The wolverine thought for a second. If he crept up behind them and rushed the two... they would be trapped in a building between an enormous wolverine, and a stoat that could slash with blades almost faster than the eyes could process. The wolverine made a dead sprint towards the two as they also launched themselves into the building. Mattak slowed as he blocked the doorway... just a few paw widths away from them. "Hey Ketz! I believe we've got a couple a' creatures tryin' t' sneak up on ya!" The wolverine smiled a dark smile, growling low and viciously as he brandished his mighty battle axe. "Yer good as dead lil' ones..."*

OOC: Mattak, I assume that means you let 'em get inside before standing in front of the doorway. If that's not the way it is, you can disregard this. And Legolas... I guess that would mean you can choose whether you followed Ffasma inside or if you stayed out, since you didn't have a chance to say what you did yet.
BIC: A ferretmaid suddenly bolted through the door Ketzal had bashed open earlier. The stoat, even though he was expecting something to happen, hadn't expected it right then. But his years of experience taught him to (instead of jerk in surprise) use that sudden adrenaline to draw his blade. Swiftly he twisted his paw and slashed horizontally at the ferret's neck height.
"Hey Ketz! I believe we've got a couple a' creatures tryin' t' sneak up on ya... Yer good as dead lil' ones..."
Though he was keeping his attention on his opponent and watching for a possible counterattack, the stoat chuckled a bit at this. "Haharr, Mattak! Did ye think I was goin' t'be surprised? Don't take 'em down too fast now, mate..."

Dagglur was beginning to make his way around to the front of the building for easier entrance, but something rather odd happened... Through another window he saw two of his comrades leap in to, apparently, take out the jewelry thief. But a few seconds later a badger lumbered across the road and blocked them in. The squirrel cocked his head slightly. This was an odd turn of events. Now it was three against two, but he didn't know how well his friends could fair against a badger... Of course, neither did he. How do you take down a badger when all you've got is daggers?
He let out a sigh, trying to think of something. For the time being he decided to lay low against the edge of the building, peering in through the window from time to time. If he was heroic, he'd probably rush right in there and try to help 'em out, but he would also probably get squashed by the badger... That's okay. Dagglur didn't do heroic. He scratched his ear lightly with the hilt of his dagger, reaching over to push the window open just an inch so he could hear anything important going on.

OOC: What the heck, I'll go in too.
BIC:
*A split second after Ffasma launched herself into the shop, Legolas followed, her bow already out with an arrow nocked on the string. She skidded to a halt as she heard a gruff voice behind her in the doorway of the shop*
"Hey Ketz! I believe we've got a couple a' creatures tryin' t' sneak up on ya... Yer good as dead lil' ones..."
*Wheeling around she found herself face to face with the hulking creature she had seen in the marketplace. She gulped. It was the biggest wolverine she had even seen. Bringing her bow slowly up to aim at him, she heard the looter behind her say*
"Haharr, Mattak! Did ye think I was goin' t'be surprised? Don't take 'em down too fast now, mate..."
*She steadied her paws on the bow and adressed first Ffasma, then the wolverine*
Ffasma, if you've got the looter covered I've got.. um... the big guy. Now, listen, you, I've got a bow trained on your eye, and if you make any sudden moves I will not hesitate to shoot. I'm pretty quick with my follow-up shot too.
OOC: My character tends to be very foolhardy in the face of danger. She also can be rather cheeky to an enemy, even if the enemy has the upper hand.

Just as he suspected. The three were enemies, and as the badger ran out of the building, he parried the first blow from the nearest enemy, a wolf, out of pure luck.
OOC: Jadak and Adrean are wolves, right? If not, I'll edit.
The wolf jumped back, assuming a defensive stance, while another wolf signaled for their archers to shoot the badger. The archers, who were on the ramparts, loosed two arrows at the badger. The first arrow flew right between the badger's legs, and the second left him with a cut from muzzle to ear, which would add to Typhoon's collection of scars. Typhoon felt himself fill with rage, but as usual, he never showed it.
Though the wolf also had a sword, Typhoon's was longer and heavier. Besides, Typhoon also felt lucky that night, a feeling he had not had for years. A blow from a trained adversary had been parried out of luck, and two arrows at close range had not even caused a serious wound. The badger grabbed his sword with both hands and charged at the second wolf. He only hoped that the archers and the other swordbeasts would not react too fast; the badger had to survive for at least a few minutes for his comrades to arrive. He gave another shout as he charged, in case they had not heard him the first time.
RAISE THE ALARM! ENEMY INFILTRATORS ON THE NORTH SIDE!

OOC: Ketzal I am SO SORRY! *Shakes head* Gah...I musta spaced out. So sorry.*
*Ffasma rushed into the building, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. Suddenly, some shot out in front of her, aimed at her neck. Instinctively, Ffasma ducked, avoiding the stoat's blade. She quickly aimed a kick at the stoat's midriff, but made no more moves, for then she heard a voice.*
"Hey Ketz! I believe we've got a couple a' creatures tryin' t' sneak up on ya... Yer good as dead lil' ones..."
*Ffasma turned her head slightly and saw, standing in the doorway, a hulking wolverine. Though she knew it was a wolverine, Ffasma had never actually /seen/ one, and the sight was chilling. It seemed that doom was hanging ominous over Ffasma and Legolas's heads.*
Ffasma, if you've got the looter covered I've got.. um... the big guy. Now, listen, you, I've got a bow trained on your eye, and if you make any sudden moves I will not hesitate to shoot. I'm pretty quick with my follow-up shot too.
*Ffasma took a deep breath and looked the stoat in the eyes, responding to Legolas.* Yes. *She clenched her fists tighter and awaited for something to happen...whatever that something may be.*
OOC: Again, Ketzal, so sorry. I hope this post covered anything. I'm a little spaced out right now...gah...

"What are you doing here wolf? Tell me who your allied with, and why do you speak to me as if I was filth?"[/b]
Aranel's eyes narrowed as she listened to the badger's response, all the while still moving closer. She didn't want to be caught out in the open, and it didn't look like this badger would offer her much assistance.
The she-wolf let out a low, irritated growl. "Ye should not speak te beasts ye do not know with such a horrible attitude, badger," she said icily. "I did not insult ye, badgers mean nothing te me. In perilous times like this, there is no room for bickering. If ah' was a intruder, do ye think I would just run up to the nearest stripedog with a battle axe? I am not daft. And as for who ah' am allied with, perhaps ah' shold be asking ye that question - ah' have not seen ye around this fortress before..."

(Woah woah woah. Typhoon. Hold up now. The arrows actually came from the battlements above and in front of you. If you follow my posts, two archers were snuck there a few minutes befor. Adrean mearly signaled them with a slash. Adrean is ACTUALLY holding a katana in his right paw and a wakasashi in his left [long and short swords, respectivly]. And BTW, there are five that you are directly facing. Two are NPC swordsmen of Adrean's training. In the posts if you want to check.)
*Adrean shakes his head almost sadly, a contrast to the confident smile on his face. He waits for the badgers attack, knowing it would be fast and hard, a two handed blow from the looks of it. But Adrean also knew from training that size and strength ment next to nothing against a truely skilled opponent. And then there were also Sabac and Jadak. And his archers. And his two swordsmen besides, who fan out to either side of the badger, drawing both their swords as they do so, eager to slay the one who wanted to kill their commander, and knowing how to pattern their attacks with Adrean's. Adrean knew that this badger was as good as dead.
As the badger charges, another two arrows are loosed from above, aimed at the badgers face as he roars, hopefully catching him unawares.
Over the walls slips another shadow returning to it's master. He sits invisible in the shadows for the fight to end.*
